HI all! I am just now getting back into vinyl, and so I am setting up a new sound system with this goal in mind. As such, I am running a vintage amp to make the most of the phono input (Pioneer SX-750, though may look to upgrade to Marantz 2245 or Sansui 881 in future). Will not be doing any HT applications here - just music (and EDM or dance - primarily classic rock and alternative). I have an opportunity to pick up a used set of Triton 2's (not 2+) for $1400...or I can also go with Triton 5's ($1200). So, my question is this: Since I am not looking to build a HT, which option is best suited to my specific needs? I have seen some suggest that the 5's are better for a 2-channel setup... but in this case, is the price on the 2's so attractive that the 2's might be the better option, even if it's a bit of overkill, etc?

Interesting questions.
The short answer is that the T 2s are WAY more speaker than the T 5s, WAY more!!!!!
It sounds like you like bass, and if that is the case then you really will need the Twos.
IF I am wrong and bass is not important then the T 5s are sweet, clean sounding speakers.
IMHO, go with the T 2s, you will not be disappointed.
I still have mine and love them.
