Hi all! new here to the GoldenEar Forums. I really like the Triton 1 and SuperCenter XL combo for front array, but am getting mixed opinions on the correct surround speakers for this set up. Should I use the Aon 3's or the the SuperSat 60's? Also, is the SuperCenter XL the best choice for the center channel, or should that be changed to the SuperSat 60?

I appreciate any and all help with this!

I'm using Triton 7's for R/L surrounds. I was using SS50s. Both work very well.

Re Supercenter XL vs. SS60, I think you're probably better off with the SuperCenter XL. I upgraded to the SCXL from the SS50 and there was a noticeable improvement. When I was considering upgrading from my SS50, I asked my dealer the same question. He steered me to the SuperCenter XL. I'm very pleased with it. The SuperCenter XL sonically matches my Triton 2's extremely well - much more closely than the SS50s did. Granted the SS60s have an extra pair of radiators, but I suspect the SC XL will be a better choice for the Triton ones.
Living Room:
Triton 1 - R,L
SuperCenter XL - Center
Triton 2 - Surrounds
SuperSat 50 - Rear surrounds
Emotiva XMC-1 pre/pro
Emotiva XPA-1 G2 monoblocks, R/L/C,
Emotiva XPA-1L monoblocks: surrounds, rears

Home Office Office:
Triton 7 - R,L
Emotiva XPA1-L, Stealth DC-1 DAC

Sorry A. J. I did not see your post at all, only now caught it since Bradorner commented on it.
And I agree with Bradorner, especially about the SC XL. I don't have room for the XL and only use the X, but it is still great, I highly recommend the SC X and XL with Triton 2s--so for sure Triton Ones.
The Aon 3s would be great or surrounds, as would the Triton 7s. Really just a matter of price and placement. The T 7s are just that much better than the Aons, but the Aons are spectacular for their size and price.
Enjoy putting your system together and pls report back what you did.
I will try to look for your answer next time and NOT MISS it like I did your original post.
Sorry and pls get back with us. It was not an intentional ignore.
Enjoy the music and movies, God Bless,
Wayne

Hi there Wayne. No worries, it's hard to keep up with these things.

Bradorner, I appreciate the input and am glad to hear that the SCXL is working well for you and is an improvement over the SS50. I hope to be happy with that choice as well.

Well, good news is that I FINALLY got to pick up my speakers yesterday! :woohoo: It has been a long wait (2.5 months; a far cry from the 4 week lead time originally given by my dealer). Woohoo! It will take me a few days to set everything up, but I hope to have it all done within the next couple of weeks. I will keep you all posted once everything is in and running!

I ended up with T1's, SCXL, T7's, and Invisa 650's, all powered by Marantz SR7009. Hopefully the install goes easy and I can start enjoying everything!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!

Wayne, I think I figured out why you did not see my original post. When I first entered the forums, I created this post, but then I thought that I put it in the wrong area, so I created a new post and that is where all of our other replies are found! Sorry for the confusion!
