I really enjoyed Virgil!!!!!
I bought some BLS and it was not as good as the acoustic song above. Could not get into it.
But I gotta find Virgil.
God Bless,

Heres the deal with Zakk...

Being the guitar player for Ozzy Osbourne for so many years,he has a reputation to uphold, but deep down he is a southern boy who loves playing southern rock/acoustic.It just so happens he is from New Jersey.

He has Black Label Society to satisfy his metal fans.

Several years back he did a project called "Pride and Glory" that was essentially southern/blues rock...great album!

If you like his acoustic stuff, you need to get his solo stuff...Book of Shadows 1 & 2 are all very laidback acoustic/mellow rock.

There were a lot of great guitar players in the 60s-80s when bands were bands and musicians played and wrote music. Now the music industry is filled with "artists" and entertainers that perform other folks' music. There certainly are some exceptions, like Virgil and the Accelerators and they definitely have a good guitar player. I'm not sure he would stand out in the 70s and 80s though.

To be honest, I've never listened to Zakk Wylde but I will check him out. There are plenty of great musicians and a lot of fantastic music to explore and I'm grateful to have so many people contributing something new everyday. And yes, some of this music includes banjo... Sorry, Anthem.

Cheers,

T Cobe

No probs man.
As you can prolly tell i like Zakk just a bit :)

To add more credibility to his southern leanings, back in the early 90s The Allman bros. were doing a show and one of their guitarists couldnt do the show(for reasons I dont know)

So who did they call to fill in,for one show,no rehearsals?

Zakk.

You can hear that performance w/ The Allman Bros on a bootleg called "Zakk Goes Wylde"

PS...how do i make my vids not so squished?

Perhaps, but guys like Robin Trower,Frank Marino,SRV,are all either dead or semi retired.

I find it refreshing to hear a kid from England play blues rock and with such passion and talent....

I just hope he doesnt sell out and become an opening act for Kayne West
