Another new entry and one of Jazz Fifty Greatest.
John Coltrane / My Favorite Things (1961) -- Summertime.



A pretty good sounding cd with no detectable distortion. The first track, "My Favorite Things" had less than stellar bass...no real detail. Other than that, a great piece of music and a proud addition to the family. Very much recommended.

Autumn Leaves by Cannonball Adderly and an all-star cast. I finally have some time to make some adjustments in my home theater after being on the road for the last two weeks. Boy, is it great to be home! I've moved my 2-channel setup to the front of my room, between my T1s. Everything finally looks at home. Things sound great, as always.

Time for a morning cup of joe and some critical listening. Still playing with speaker positioning and setup. I don't want to spark any debate, but I have to agree with Bro Anthem on the power cords. I initially hooked up my 2-channel setup yesterday with my stock power cord on my pre-amp and the resulting sound was definitely more harsh. While I had that hooked up, I used my spare cord on my Anthem AVM 60 and the surround sound was definitely more lively.

Until I get room treatments, I think I'm stuck with my T1s far into my front corners. My frequency dips between 100 and 300 Hz are too drastic for ARC to correct and stereo music direct is even worse. Im going to have to get a consult from GIK to figure out the source of my issues. Chesky Records Ultimate Demonstration Disk #2 is helping me sort things out.
