Brian Bromberg / It is What it is (2009) -- Love Shack.
I use to feel Emotiva amps were overly bright...not anymore. The AntiCable's have alleviated that problem.

My ears have been opened once again. Thanks to TCOBE and the ramblings on the after market power cord thread, I decided to hook up my Emotiva xpa -1 monoblocks with AC Reference 3 powercords and have a listen.
Emotiva xpa -1 monoblocks > Anti-Cable Reference 3 powercords
Primaluna Premium Preamp > Decware DHC -1 silver power cord
Triton 2's > Shunyata Venom 3 power cords
Oppo 105 > Anti-Cable Reference 3 powercord
Anti-Cable Level 6.2 Absolute Signature Interconnect
Decware DSG interconnect
Military silver/copper speaker wire
System cost > $10,650
I've owned the Emotiva xpa -1'S for 4-5 years and have been alternating back and forth with Emotiva and Venom 3 power cords but have never been completely happy. That all changed today with the introduction of the AC power cords. Absolutely beautiful pure sound with a totally black background, even at higher than normal listening levels. Guys I'm sold on the Anti-Cable Reference 3 powercords. It seems that everything they touch turns to ear candy. At this point in the game I would not even consider listening to any other power cord, that's how highly I think of these cords.
Hey, Anthem
Thanks for the report! I agree completely. The AC Reference 3 power cords on my sources (OPPO and AVR) are staying right there, and are my favorite power cords. Still using Shunyata Venom 3's on the T2's, and a Pangea AC14 MKII on the NAD amp. For what ever reason, I never found as big a difference with Venom 3 or Pangea cords on the T1's, although I didn't try testing the effect on total SL, as T Cobe has done, and didn't try the AC Reference 3 cord with the T1's either (too long/expensive a run even if i did happen to like the effect).
I'm just plain enjoying listening to that pure, natural "ear candy", as you called it. There may be lot of "smoke and mirrors" around the whole subject of power cords (and speaker cables. and interconnects), but I do know when I hear something I absolutely love.
Happy listening!

Just enough time to spin a few songs on vinyl before I'm ushered out the door. I've been playing with positioning and acoustic treatments again this morning and ARC last night. Oh, this endless pursuit. I did get to watch Spectre this morning and will try to post on that later. There's a new reference scene in my arsenal...
Cheers,
T Cobe

Mostly uptempo describes this cd, with an occasional ballad for good measure.

Hey, Anthem
I hear you. I feel somewhat like a leech... I've been listening to the stuff you all have been posting, and streaminng on Deezer, and enjoying it.
I know, I need to give back. I'll do better. Though I will say I am JEALOUS of the music collection you have at your disposal!
Happy listening!
