For me it was Paul McCarrtney in 2005. The year after the "clothing malfunction". Hey Jude is not an adrenaline rush. In fact, it was crazy boring! Cold Play did seem out of place with Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. Go Broncos!

Cheers,

I completely agree, Paul McCartney was the best half time show so far. Yesterday was just terrible. In 2005 I attended a party where there were all ages there. Even the younger people stopped talking and listened to him. It was obvious what a fantastic musician/singer her is. Many of the kids had never heard of him. It was funny when I told them he was a Beatle they said a what????
Kids?????

Enjoy,
DT

I agree that Sir Paul McCartney is a fine musician and I enjoy his music but I don't think his halftime show fit the atmosphere. The NFL wanted something safe after the Janet Jackson incident. The halftime show is supposed to be festive and it's supposed to build excitement. Hey Jude is a great song, but it certainly doesn't make you want to throw your hands up, throw caution to the wind, and party. Just my opinion.

The music yesterday was not great, for sure; however, Bruno Mars and Beyoncé are great entertainers. The addition of Coldplay seemed a bit wierd as their music tends to be a bit melodramatic for my taste. In all, I think it was a good show but not good music. I always find it funny when people believe entertainers can perform hip-hop dancing and sing at the same time. There was a lot of lip syncing going on there last night.

Cheers,

Here is what my wife thought about last night's halftime show. This is a direct quote off her Facebook page.

Crappy halftime , beyonce an insult to women, couldnt understand one word, demon inspired
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

I can certainly understand and respect where your wife is coming from on this one. My wife is normally pretty sensitive to women objectifying themselves but didn't say much about the show last night. as far as lyrics, the emphasis last night was certainly not on the music. It was really a dance routine more than anything. I will say that Bruno Mars can dance, even if I find him a bit creepy.

Cheers,

FWIW, I thought the A/V presentation was amazing for a live event of this magnitude. I thought the performances were excellent as well, the wife loved the dance-off scene. This was really more of a Las Vegas show than a rock concert, and therefore was pretty much what I expected. Internet seems to feel the same way mostly. Perhaps there was a target audience age issue for some .... :)
