Sounds good, Art. That's the objective!

Hey, Art

You said you’re having fun.. well, that’s what it’s all about!!!

I’’d rather nick a component or two than deny myself the satisfaction of trying new things that might bring me more auditory pleasure.

Good for you, Art!!

Keep experimenting. At the SL’s you play at, I suspect the amp has reserve, and you keep in touch with Cambridge in what you’re trying.

Enjoy what you’re doing!!

Rick

Hi Rick and Charlie (and Wayne, too)

I had a response from Cambridge this afternoon. They were not happy with my having three speaker pairs connected. They advised that the amp might go into overload. Rick, you and I agree - I am probably not driving the amp hard enough to overload it at the lower impedance.

Cambridge had no concern with having two pair of nominal 8-ohm speakers connected (one each to "A" and "B"). So, I have reconfigured and removed the SuperSat 3Cs, leaving the Front Ones connected to "A" and the Rear Sevens connected to "B".

For the moment, I am leaving the 3Cs mounted in their upper middle positions. I will probably connect them to the Fronts on my Onkyo. I will then connect the Onkyo to the DAC Magic Plus to bypass the inferior DACs in the Onkyo. I can then adjust the 3Cs to add to the presence in the room. Right now, the Onkyo isn't doing anything else anyway.

Maybe someday, I'll own a pair of T-Refs. Then, I'll move the Ones to the Rear and orphan a pair of Sevens. Does anyone see my ship coming in?.

The experiment was fun, but I will stay with Cambridge's engineers recommendations.

Happy Listening,

Art

Hey Bro Art.
I agree, you are making what sounds like a good decision to go easy with the amp.

I enjoy how much you are having fun playing with your gear/setup. You are irrepressible.
Which is a good thing.

Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Yes, it was interesting. I took a look over the horizon, and I thought I saw a ship heading your way. Not sure, though, pretty foggy.
