Well that news SUCKS!!!!!
Oppo and GoldenEar Tech, the two best companies I EVER BOUGHT FROM AND DEALT WITH!!!!!

Streaming?????
Sony doesn't want any more shiny discs around, they cannot control em and keep the music and movies from being copied, so they want streaming.
But Bro Charlie, you said it is here now. NO, it is not HERE now!!!! And the quality for surround sound is NOT even near for streaming, at least in my experience and in what I read.

Double Dang it!!!! I have not even been able to find an all region 205 yet!!!!!
And I will have to as my old 95 is getting to where it can't play so much any more.

That is sad news Bro Rick!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

I have an OPPO 105 & an OPPO 205, and I do not regret their purchase. Both are Beautifully built with flawless operation. I was thinking about selling the 105, but now, I may hold on to it. SALUTE!!
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Bro Anthem, agreed, I am the same but behind you.
I have the 83SE and a 95, still working great, but behind on technology and discs are coming out now that the 95 cannot play.
Still sounds good though.
God Bless,
Wayne

And now, my favorite audio store, Audio Systems in Austin, is going to shut down. :( The owner is retiring after many years in the business.

I kind of feel like another major support leg is going away. Not a good feeling.

I sure hope some dealer, equally helpful, can establish themselves in the Austin area. Don't really want to have to travel to Dallas or Houston or Abilene to find another GEt dealer.

Kudos again to Audio Systems, a class act, like GEt.

I am a reader of Sound & Vision magazine and the online version. I was stunned when I read the announcement that Oppo was going to stop making players and only support the firmware updates.

I love mine. It beats the top of the line Sony I used for years. I was considering buying the Ultra HD player, UDP-205 and them going out of business won't stop me. I have heard that some stores have had a run on their units. Once they are gone that is it...no more.

It's a shame, great quality, reliability, and a fantastic remote.
