The Power cords included with the Tritons are 14/2.

Regarding power cords, there is a thread in the forum on this topic, and if I recall one poster mentioned an engineer friend suggested that the power cord may be the most important "cable" to upgrade in a hifi system. It is our experience that in and of itself this may be a minor thing (and may vary by installation circumstance), but improvements tend to be additive. Every little minor thing, when taken as a whole, can make a pretty significant difference on the overall sound of the system. And that is why Tsgt2007 found so many choices in power cords, and you will in every other conceivable accessory upgrade that's out there. When someone not into audio hears my system and says "wow, those speakers are tremendous", I always reply, "its not just the speakers".

Thanks, Moderator. I appreciate the correction. Just goes to prove that you can't believe everything you read on the internet. :) That said, I'm assuming that you feel power cables are a worthwhile upgrade. Any recommendations in the $100 to $200 price range for the Triton Ones besides the Venom 3? I've been looking at PS Audio and AudioQuest cables as they are a better match for the Tritons, aesthetically speaking... I also found an interesting DIY project using 12 gauge Belden 83803 shielded power wire. I know GET uses a lot of different cables at trade events so you would likely have much more experience in this area. Thank you very much!

Cheers,

Toby, Toby, Toby...I think all that rap you've been listening to has fried your brain. In the $100 - $200 power cord price range the Shunyata Research Venom 3 is top dog. Also of interest is the Decware DHC -1 silver power cord at $189...I use one on my Oppo 105.

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Anthem,

Shunyata may be the top dog but it could also win the ugliest dog award... :S

Tsgt2007,

AudioQuest makes some fine cables. I own a few myself. I haven't read much about their power cables but trust their products. Their entry level gear presents good build quality at reasonable prices. A good value in my opinion and they are much easier to look at. A lot of dealers carry them and demo them on their equipment. An audition should be pretty easy to accomplish. If you can get past the styling, Anthem and Dilettante are right, this is probably the best power cord for the money based on reviews and expert advice.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I think I will definitely look into at Audioquest and Shunyata. They seem to be awesome cables and reasonable prices.
