Good post dwgncat, great that you could hear both the towers and compare like that.
What did surprise a little is that you mention going with the T 3+ in the end. But you did not mention auditioning them. Have you had a chance to listen to them?
Is it budget alone that is making you drop down the line to them?
Or room positioning?
I mean, the system you are thinking about should sound very good, really good. But let's be honest, the T 3+s are not the Ones!!!!
I am interested that you got rid of a very good processor, the 8802 and went with the Anthem, that is a big recommendation for Anthem!!!
Please let us know what you decide and how it works out for you.
I think you will love whatever you come up with, as long as it is GEt speakers.
Leave those other off brands alone, ha ha.
God Bless,
Wayne

I believe that the Triton ones were auditioned in a dealer showroom, not the OP's home. The T1's are simply too much for the space that the OP has available.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner

I would try the Triton 5's perhaps all around (5) and a good sub (FF 5 to. SSXL) if space allows.

Anthem is something I am looking at as well. Arc room correction will help with the space.

Having passives all around will give you a nice even bass around the room. The sub could then take you down past the T5's depth and be very satisfying.

Just my .02

Correct on both counts. Auditions were done at an authorized GET dealer's showroom and the T3's instead of the T1's for now is specifically a budgetary reduction. Framing, electric, cabling, insulation (this week), then drywall followed by painting and carpet seems to be eating up more of the budget than initially thought.

T5's around would also be great but a) we don't have that much room up front with T5's and subs and we are using Invisa 650's for rears. It's a funky shaped room hence looking into the Anthem MRX 720 and ARC to set up well.

I haven't yet heard the T3's but plan too soon at the same dealer. They started me off with more of a MSRP comparison than what our revised budget will currently allow.

Now that our basement is almost completely ready, I've booked our local GET authorized dealer to come back with some speakers. Evidently, they don't keep the Triton 3+ in stock (they do have the 2+) and need to order them.

The difference in price is $1000 total between the 2+ and 3+. I've read many reports that the 2+ is close to the 1's. Similarly, the SuperCenter XL is $500 less than the XXL. If I go with the Triton 3+ and SuperCenter XL it will be a savings of $1500 which is 3/4 of the way to an ATI AT523NC Hypex N-Core Class D amp that everyone is raving about. To complete the initial setup... the Invisa 650s will be the rears. My additional pieces are an Anthem 510 receiver and an Oppo 105D blu-ray player.

Thoughts?

Thanks everyone!
