Hello I am a newb and I know there has been threads and discussion on 1 vs 2+ but my question is more specific to suggestions on room size where the more power/drivers/size would be minimized in the 1 making the difference negligible. I am in the process of looking for and purchasing a new house (money is definitely an object). I had a smallish and very narrow man cave in my previous home that I went with sub/supersat setup so I didn't have to give up valuable floor space. I will have a room to have an A/V setup in the new place. Not sure of the size, the $$ savings may enable me to purchase sooner but I don't want to compromise on sound quality and will wait longer if that is a concern.
Thanx in advance

Seegarsmkr,
First of all, welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've been a GET owner for a while. Congrats on the pending new home and improved theater/listening space.
The best thing you can do is go have a thorough listening session with both the T1 and the T2+. Decide which one you think sounds better and if it is the T1, you'll need to determine if the improvement is worth the increase in price. Regardless of the size of the room, a T1 will sound like a T1 and the T2+ will sound like a T2+. If you can hear the difference, room size will not change that.
In my experience, both speakers sound fantastic and you can't go wrong either way. If the T2+ is at the upper end of your budget, go for it and have no regrets: they will sound great! If the T1s are a reasonable option for you, give them an audition. In the end, I felt the sound quality improvement was worth waiting and saving up to purchase the T1s.
Good luck with the new home and equipment purchases! Let us know how things go and what you decide, please.
Cheers,
T Cobe

At AXPONA 2016 in Rosemont, IL, I heard a pair of $15,000 bookshelf speakers containing "just" a single 6.5" woofer in each vented cabinet. The amount of bass was surprising. Why? The room was tiny!
The smaller the room, the bigger than bass. Now, the trick is going to be to figure out what room size you have, and for that, we need to know the following:
1.) Total cubic feet of volume for the room
2.) Are there any hallways or openings from the room into other parts of the house, or is it sealed?

Murph,
Thanx for illustrating my point. I was actually trying to devise an answer in reverse. I know that the size of the room and "stuff" in it can drastically affect bass, imaging, dynamic range, etc. What i was trying to ask was is there a recommended cubic room size difference between the Triton 1 and 2+? If the room "smallness" is sufficient to minimize the difference between the two speakers, then it may save some time and money to downsize speaker without downsizing sound quality. As T Cobe illustrated; I may just have to audition them once I have the planned room.
Don't have information on the room size at this point which is another reason for the question without more specific data.

Seegarsmkr,
Pressurizing a room is certainly part of the equation but there is more to it than that. From my listening and the impressions of a few others that have listened to the T2+ and the T1s, there are other differences. Again, they will both sound great and very similar, but they will not sound the same regardless of room size.
I think there was a significant difference in the midrange, not just the sub frequencies. I agree with a previous poster that the T1s have a bit more fullness in their sound. Maybe a bit more warmth, though I think they are probably both very neutral and true to the recorded material.
I think a good audition at your local dealer will present these differences to you before you even get them home. I think the sub section and amp on both speakers will be sufficient in reproducing bass. Have you been able to audition both in the same room, same gear, and same source material? Could you hear any differences?
Cheers,
T Cobe
