In case there are any other AVM 60 owners lurking on the forum, Anthem has released v67 of their software and it has the long awaited DTS:X update! That's right, the AVM is now DTS:X capable instead of ready. The update took a few minutes and I'm rewatching a few scenes of Jason Bourne in DTS:X MA.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I've been waiting for this! Hopefully this will solve the annoying 4K signal issues I'm having with the Samsung UHD Player. Works with a direct connection to the projector, but not running through the AVM60. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Melvin,

Great to hear from you! Just a few quick Suggestions. Make sure you disconnect and reconnect the HDMI connections after the update. The instruction manual calls for that step. If that doesn't work, try e-mailing Anthem customer support. They are nowhere near as quick as GET but they are good about getting back to you and assisting in working through your tech issues.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I was thinking it may be an issue with the Samsung as my computer and the Roku 4 all work at 4K through the AVM 60.

I've been reading about the RMC-1 by Emotiva. I think they are struggling a bit with their brand identity and are attempting a transformation of sorts. I'm not sure how wise a $5k processor is when their typical niche is internet direct, high value, low cost gear.

Pricing themselves above the Marantz 8802a and the Anthem AVM 60 and comparing themselves to a Theta Casablanca seems like a stretch. I have no doubt it will sound good, but the evolution over the XMC-1 seems a bit extreme. It will either be a brilliant success or a flop. Being a fan of the brand, I am hoping for success. I think a $3,500 to $4,000 price point may have been a better move. I suppose it's easy to arm chair quarterback it.

Cheers,

T Cobe
