I reached a decision and I am going with GoldenEar set vs Martin Logan. 5.2.2. SuperSat 60s for LCR, two HTR 7000s for rear surrounds, and two Invisa 650s for heights.
Oh, I also got a SubXL. Yamaha 3060, and I intend to use my old 12" Boston Acoustics PV 800 sub. I don't know if that will complicate things, but I'd like to try to blend it in.
I just ordered them, so not sure when they'll be in and the have to have them installed by our local dealer. Thanks to everyone for their advice and input.
Does anyone know if I can run the HTR7000s as full or do I have to choose small and some crossover point on the Yamaha 3060 ? As advised by Mr. Moderator, I intend to position the 7000s approx. 10-13 ft back depending on where exactly we can install them. Will the Yamaha 3060 YPAO calibration get confused with the 7000s ?

Hey Halo555.
Great decision, I am sure you will not regret going with the GEts.
I would set the speakers to "small" and let the LFE go to the sub.
Just my opinion.
Have fun getting it all set up and ENJOY!!!! Your system should sound great!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Yes, you can, but you don't want to if you are using them in a HT system with a subwoofer(s). They should be set to SMALL and have an 80 Hz crossover for best performance in a complete HT system. No reason any room correction system would have a problem with them.

So I finally got my 5.1.2 system installed this past weekend. I haven't done any calibrations or adjustments besides rough distance measurements for the speakers. The HTR7000s are being used as left right surrounds and the ended up being 15.5 ft back on a 10ft high ceiling. I realize Mr. Moderator suggested them far back but hoping this wasn't too far back.
I haven't done any critical listening, but just happy to finally have something. Oh, to check polarity I temporarily set up the HTR7000s as front left right speakers instead of surrounds and I they did sound very nice, possibly better than my Supersat60s or at least that's the impression I got. What I can say is they do work well in that ceiling application.
I haven't hooked up my old 12" sub. More than a few people suggested I get something else besides a goldenear sub, but I like it.

Hi - I think I am in a similar position. I have a open living room with an open kitchen behind it. I currently have the Triton Twos, together with a supersat 50 and 2 smaller super sats that I took from my dedicated cinema room when I moved out. I now don't have room for a dedicated home cinema so just trying to incorporate what I can into my living room!!
I want to add Atmos. I also would prefer not using the supersets as rear speakers giving the wires and that fact my 1 year old daughter keeps trying to pull the stands down. I am therefore thinking of a 5.1.4 system, with 4 Dolby Atmos speakers. I may use my current tritons, or may put them upstairs and get some in-wall speakers. Not sure yet. My main question is what to do with the ceiling speakers since we are doing renovations next week and they are putting in the ceiling so ideally would let me know now where the ceiling speakers will be going!!! I therefore have two questions below!
Question:
1. Would you go with the Invite 650's or the 7,000s for the Dolby Atmos speakers, does it really make a difference given these are just for the atoms effect?
2. Can I get away with using the 7,000's for the rears, rather than using my current super sats? Everything I have read seems to suggest that I can use 7,000's for front speakers, so presume can also use them for rear speakers? But I understand from this threat that they would have to be pretty far back? Unfortunatley there is no where in the kitchen that I would even be able to put in wall speakers so it would either be the super sats on a stand or in-ceiling speakers.
The ceiling is around 12 foot. I live in Dubai where GE no longer have a dealer, so any help someone can provide me would be appreciated!!

Hi Lee, I don't have the expertise that many others on this forum have, but I can tell you what my experience has been with the equipment I recently got. I'm happy I chose the 7000s for rears. I like their size and quality and price point. Mine are on a 10ft ceiling and at 15ft distance I may have put them a couple of feet too far back. I bumped up the gains on them on my reciever from the YPAO auto calibration settings. I did test them as left and right stereo speakers and they were great. I'm also glad I chose the 650s as atmos height speakers on my 12 ft ceiling.
If you can get the 7000s enough distance back, I'd say go for it and use the 650s as the height speakers. Keep your tritons.
