Hello everyone. I am the happy owner of a pair SuperSat 3 speakers. They are driven by a Marantz SR1100. This receiver is on the low end of driver power - less than 30Watts RMS. Recently the two mid/bass drivers on one of the SuperSat 3’s have stopped working completely. Outside of a near complete lack of use over the last year, nothing unusual has happened with these speakers. Simply one day, the LHS SuperSat 3 mid/bass drivers were no longer working. The Tweeter seems fine.

Has anyone experienced this before ? Are the Crossover electronics known to malfunction ?

Thanks,

Marc Gunter

Hi Marc, most likely the 4.5" bass/midrange drivers in this SuperSat 3 need to be replaced. Please call Chet at GoldenEar's tech support department - 949-800-1805. He can discuss your service options.

I have finally had some time to test the individual drivers. (These are cottage speakers - not much spare time!)
Each driver is working fine, as is all of the wiring. I can only conclude, despite how unusual it may seem, that the cross-over network is defective. Would it be possible to order a replacement Crossover for the SuperSat 3 ?

Thanks,

Marc Gunter

Hi Marc, It's a bit unusual for a crossover network to go bad, but it seems like you've narrowed down the problem to the crossover network in this SuperSat 3. Please contact GoldenEar's customer service group - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 1-949-800-1805 (M-F 9-5:30 Eastern Time). They'll help you obtain a replacement crossover network.
