My GEt distributor shipped me a pair of TOnes halfway across the country for me to demo in my home theater.
Do you think he is dumb?????
Do you think he expected me to unpack them, listen to them, and then pack them back up and send them back to him??????
Instead he got exactly what he expected/hoped, a wire transfer payment for my new, "can't get them outta my home theater without prying them from my cold dead hands"!!!! speakers.
I would not have even considered buying them otherwise. With the T 2s I was not in the market for new speakers, other speakers.
But he knew once I heard them in my home theater, I would be SOLD.
His is a great business model, if you ask me.
Don't know why others don't do the same?
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

It's great that you have that kind of relationship with the distributor in your country. For everyone else, they are working with a (maybe) local retailer and would likely never have that option. It's not the way retail business works for items in this category.

But, from what I understand, shoes are a category where that works though. :)

No and no ;)

As to the wire xfer for payment, even at the MSRP price the T Ref's are - IMO - a "value".

I do advise "prospects" there is *some* "wiggle room" for negotiation. Presumably you availed yourself of any justifiable "opportunity".

However it gets "settled", the T Ref is certainly a phenomenal speaker to be "reckoned" (no grateful dead pun intended) with B)

Absolute sound just came out with their AXPONA show reports.
On speakers less than $20K lots were mentioned but only one got picked for "Best Sound for the Money" - GeT Reference!

www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/2018-a...dspeakers-under-20k/

"Best Sound (for the money)
I finally got around to getting a good listen to the GoldenEar Triton Reference loudspeaker ($8500). What AHC concluded in the pages of TAS and many folks on the Internet echo, it’s really hard to do better without spending substantially more. A true giant-killer."
2 channel -> GeT Ones.R, Rogue RP-7 pre, Kinki Studio B7 Monoblock amps fed by Oppo 105D, SonicTransport, OpticalRendu w/ 200,000 tracks, Rega RP8 w/ Garrott OPTIM S3 FGS Ruby + Sutherland 20/20 phono pre, PS Audio Powerplant 20
HT -> Marantz 7703, Butler Audio T5150 amp, GeT Ref mains
