TwinTurbo11,

If you use short cable runs, your Blue Jeans RCAs should be great! I'm only using XLR because of the length of run and the fact that my preamp, amps, and soon my CD player will be all fully differential. I plan to run most of my gear from the front right corner of my theater in a flush mount AV rack. I will probably end up with my CD player and pre-amp in the front of my room to keep my cable runs for stereo music to a minimum.

Bottom line, you should be good to go with quality RCAs as it sounds like your gear is all close together. Post some pics if you have time and are willing to share. I'm sure we'd all love to see your setup. Of course, please let us know how the cables come together.

Cheers,

T Cobe

T Cobe, I wanted to also do XLR, however given the atmos 7.1.2 setup, it would be too expensive to buy so many external amps (and also too much space). So I settled on buying the Marantz SR7010 (when it comes out) and paired with a Parasound Halo A21 for the fronts only. I am picky about SQ for the stereo music, but not so much for surround sound (imho, it's hard to be with the sounds of things crashing and exploding!) . I really wished the SR7010 had XLR preouts in order to avoid any potential cable interference, but alas the RCA cable I got from blue jeans (LC-1) is incredibly thick and bulky which i hopes it translates into good performance and shielding.

Hi, twinturbo11 (do you you have a twin turbo set up in a vehicle? I had a '87 turbo Buick Grand National and loved it!)

I too am waiting for the Marantz SR 7010 to be available, and reconnect one pair of currently disconnected INVISA speakers as a height channel. I'm planning on using my NAD 275 BEE amp to power the fronts, and maybe adding an Emotiva amp to power the center. I'll be very interested in your opinions on both the Marantz's SQ, and using an external amp for the fronts, in terms of SQ match with the other speakers driven directly vs. the fronts driven with an external amp.

So many choices! But I, like you, have chosen to use a good quality AVR as the base for reasons including space available, and externally amp at least the fronts, and maybe the center.

All I know for sure so far is that the GEt speakers just love good sound fed to them, and send it to my ears in spades!

Happy Listening!

Hi there, sure thing - let's keep each other updated on how the SR7010 turns out :) For the center, i would have thought the 125w per channel of the SR7010 might be enough to power a SC XL ? I considered getting the Parasound A31 (3x250w) instead of the A21 (2x250w), but the A21 has had considerably better reviews (both are great though), I think it's because they both have 100,000 µF power supply filter capacitance, but that's split in 2 for the A21 vs 3 for the A31.

Alright alright , if you insist... Here is a partial view of the cabinets. The cabinets are free floating, and when everything is closed, not a single wire shows. Even the tv wires are behind the wall. The only wires showing are the power/audio/sub cables of the triton 1, which is how this whole thread got started , lol  No other speaker shows (center xl is inside cabinet, and surrounds are in-ceiling).

Starting from the left:

Cabinet #1:
Houses PS4, 4k media player, Sonos, and apple wifi router. The data cables come from cabinet 5/6, the power cables all go (inside the cabinet, from the bottom) to cabinet 3 where they are plug in a power bar, and the HDMI cables all go (inside the cabinet, from the top) to cabinet 2 where they are plugged in the receiver.

Cabinet #2:
Houses receiver and amplifier. Power cables all go (inside the cabinet, from the bottom) to cabinet 3. Surround ceiling speaker wires go to the top inside the wall. L/R speaker wires will now go under the cabinet (will have to find way to attach them) so they are not too close to the power cables. C speaker wire will go under cabinet and pop back into cabinet 5/6. HDMI cables run along power cables to cabinet 5/6 and pop up behind the wall to go to the TV.

Cabinet #3:
Houses a quality power bar/surge protector, which itself is plugged in cabinet 5/6.

Cabinet #4:
Empty. Just has a few power, data, and HDMI wires running through it

Cabinet#5/6:
This is where the center speaker is located - it is sitting on an anti-vibration speaker pad. Behind the center speaker, this is where the power plugs and data jacks are located. Also behind the center speaker are some power and HDMI wires running through and going up to the TV.

Hey Twin Turbo, VERY impressive indeed!!!!
I like the look, the white cabinets much be great for the wife. I just have some questions about how this plays, probably just missing something you told us.
The SC XL is in a cabinet? How does it play, have a sound transparent cover? You are not opening doors are you? IF so, I hope they are sliding doors to get out of the way.
Where are the Tritons going to sit? Are they out into the room away from the cabinets?
Looks great, but I am wondering how all this will work/sound????
Hoping for all the best for you, built in home theater is HARD to DO!!!!!!
Or to do it where it sounds great!!!! And LOOKS great, almost impossible!!!!! But looks like you are all over it trying.
Happy listening, God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

HI, twinturbo11

I just checked the the Marantz web site, and they are now showing the SR 7010 as the available top of the line AVR.. just a few weeks ago they were still showing the 7009. Let us know if you get one and how you like it. I'm heading for one also.

Yes, I will try the 7010 first with the center without external amping.
