Hey TT,
Just a thought here, but not much science. Audio cables and digital cables, to my knowledge do not affect the world around them much, IF at all. I know some say they do, but not in my experience.
BUT power cables have a force field around them, an electromagnetic field because of the current running through them. I will not get technical because I can't. But that field can and does interact with wire going through it. HDMI, being 1s and 0s, will not be affected as much I guess, but I still see those magnetic things put on nearly every HDMI cable, so I suspect they would not like induced charges either.
Think about an electromagnet. Take a nail or a bolt and wrap an electric wire around it several times, then turn on the juice, it will become a magnet and start picking up things. Same way a solenoid in your starter, or our beloved midranges and woofers work.
An electrician (who REALLY should have known better) had a long electric cable extension cord wrapped around his shoulder, over his head, down to under his arm on the other side, walking through a hydro-electric plant past a generator. Well, he never got passed the generator, he got fried by "induced" electricity. That is the story anyway.
I would keep power cables away from any and all others. I do it especially because mine is 240 VAC, I believe I caught that yours is too? Which would likely make this twice as important.
I may be wrong, and it is often impossible to keep them apart very well, but I try.
Hope this helps, all the best,
God Bless, Wayne

+1 on what Wayne has said about power cables. Those are the only cables I have ever experienced interference with. I have not had any issues with my audio or video cables. I have not been very meticulous about the cable management with the cables running in my system and I don't have any issues.

I played around a bit with the cables coming out of the back of my T1s and could not hear any difference in sound; regardless of what I did. I imagine it has something to do with the amount of current/amperage running through them and the design of the T1's electronics. That has been my basis on the recommendation for TwinTurbo11 to test his set-up. His gear in his environment may differ and 240 volts is certainly different from 110.

To keep things reasonably neat in my room, I ran my wires in the walls and popped the out near my T1s. Things will change a bit once I am able to get my monoblock amps next to my towers. I've ordered the required XLR cables and speaker wire and should have things straightened out by next weekend. I'll probably run my XLR cables to the amps through the walls and then run a short 10 gauge speaker wire. Everything I've read says this is the way to go but you certainly can't believe everything you read or hear. Best to try it out for yourself. Happy listening!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Much thanks Wayne - great explanation!!!

T Cobe, I wanted to also do XLR, however given the atmos 7.1.2 setup, it would be too expensive to buy so many external amps (and also too much space). So I settled on buying the Marantz SR7010 (when it comes out) and paired with a Parasound Halo A21 for the fronts only. I am picky about SQ for the stereo music, but not so much for surround sound (imho, it's hard to be with the sounds of things crashing and exploding!) . I really wished the SR7010 had XLR preouts in order to avoid any potential cable interference, but alas the RCA cable I got from blue jeans (LC-1) is incredibly thick and bulky which i hopes it translates into good performance and shielding.
