We are thinking of upgrading our Triton One’s to the T-Refs.

Does anybody know if the T-Refs are scheduled for an update?

Hi Steve609.

Having gone from the T1 to the TRef myself, I can tell you that that's a good idea.

As a general rule, I'm "in the know" with the type of question that you've asked. To my knowledge there is no planned upgrade to the TRef, or planned different speaker product from GoldenEar that would best it.

Having said that, I'm making the assumption that when you write "scheduled for an update" you're referring to the product and it's specifications. If on the other hand you're referring to the MSRP, that of course would be subject to change over time and in fact costs more today than when originally released. I do not foresee a price increase from GE likely, however, I believe the TRef can only be obtained through a dealer and the dealer price could vary.

If you already have T1s presumably you purchased them through a dealer. I would further presume you would use the same dealer to obtain the TRef. You certainly should be able to receive some type of trade-in value, likely around $3k (approximately) for the pair, depending on condition, etc. Hopefully your dealer views it that way or even more so to your advantage.

We pulled the trigger and bought the T-Refs and the Dealer is helping us sell the T1's.

As a matter of fact we are upgrading our entire system right now.

Anybody looking for a pair of 9 out of 10 T1's or a pair 9 out of 10 T2's (they look like they just came out of the box)?

Hi Steve609, the best information available shows the Triton References "staying as is" for the near future. The Triton References would also be a nice upgrade from the Triton Ones. Happy Listening!
