Before I ask my question, I should note there isn't a dealer within several hundred miles. Given that, I probably will not have a chance to listen to these speakers for some time, but I am super interested. As an avid home theater guy, my one concern with the SuperSat 50C is it's size in relation to the Triton towers. Does this speaker pack the needed punch to keep up with the towers as a matched center channel? Are there any plans down the road to include a larger center channel. Coming from DefTech who is typically known for having larger centers I was just curious on how this speaker might stack up.

Sorry to hear we don't have a closer dealer for you, but I am sure this will change over the course of the next few months.

In answer to your question, the SuperSat 50 is designed to produce the same spectral response as the Tower with the same tonal balance from the lower midrange through to the top end (the SuperSat 50 should be high-passed in your Home Theater setup of course). The SuperSat 50 midrange is closer to the Tower midrange in performance than you may be lead to believe from the physical presence of the two products. Although the SuperSat 50 speaker is designed to look very small, the drivers have been optimized to have very similar acoustic characteristics and output to the Tower drivers. Looks can be deceiving, since GoldenEar has both the experience and facilities we had the pleasure to design all the drivers for the complete GoldenEar product line starting from scratch in our in-house laboratory, for a no compromise match in performance (timbre, dispersion characteristics, and output levels). So, the Tower and SuperSat 50 were, so to speak, "made for each other".

I have the same concern. I will be using Sherbourn 7 channel amp to drive these speakers. I did try this at my local dealer in California. I am not sure how much I can push them for home theater duty without hurting them.

I was looking at some of the other centers while at the dealer and Paradigm one's looked beefier. I just want to make sure that these will pull through before I make my purchase.

As long as the speaker is crossed over at an appropriate frequency, you will not be disappointed in the output level. "Beefier" centers presumably means those with more low frequency capability, which means, among other things, they will be considerably larger. The design of the SuperSat 50 was to achieve audiophile fidelity and at the same time a small and attractive (and affordable) package.

More low frequency response simply means that more of the "work" will be done by the center speaker, less by the subwoofer. That's the trade off, no advantage to producing those lower frequencies in the center speaker, and with possible disadvantages. As far as loud goes, with the correct crossover setting the SuperSat 50C will play every bit as loud as those "beefier" centers, and will sound MUCH better at those high volumes. The HVFR Tweeter gets loud much better than even the best dome tweeters in those other brands you mention. And we are very familiar with those other brands.

Thank you so much for the reply. In fact the dealer's set up was not convincing. Towers were not set up properly and it was boomy. I am taking a leap of faith based on one of my very good buddies recommendation.

I would be running ARC to see how I can smooth out the response in my room.
