Excellent, you won't be disappointed.

We have found that our dealers are just now getting familiar with the setup needs of the Tritons. They have discovered that the Tritons do not like being in very small rooms (common for many dealer showrooms and typical of truly full-range loudspeakers), they sound best when setup quite far apart and then toed-in, and the bass level control should be set at 9 o'clock or lower for a typical room.

And of course, like any great speaker, the better the associated equipment and source material, the better they will sound.

Hi again - I should have mentioned that ARC will certainly do a great job of fixing any room/speaker interactions, especially for low frequencies. Based on my experience, I would suggest you reduce the HF limit on ARC to 3000 Hz from the default 5000 Hz. ARC can do a great job on the ubiquitous horn loaded dome tweeters, but not so much on the very different ribbon tweeter in the GoldenEar products.

I've always wondered about the size of the Sat50c. Today at a dealer we had the Tritions set up had the 50c playing away and we decided to change out the Sat50c with a Def Tech Mythos 3. What a difference in the low end... 45hz - 30 kHz as compared to the Sat50 60Hz - 35Khz.. Is there any reason this wouldn't be a good alternative until a new center channel is developed by Sandy. Just wondering

This question has already been addressed in detail in this thread, so I will not rehash all of that ... please read through the history of this Speaker size topic on the forum.

Regarding the product demonstration you heard, sounds like you were the victim of a bad setup. Properly setup, there would be absolutely no difference in perceived center channel bass performance. If you have the store name and salesman information you can certainly contact the GoldenEar office with that information so we can offer up some (apparently) needed assistance.

It's obvious that this high end dealer with 30 years experience has got to have something set up wrong. PS: all they did was remove the cables from one speaker and connected the speaker wires to the other. Maybe it's a bad 50c.. I will ask when I go in there to pick up my Sat3's. PS my Tritons are awesome.

Even the best dealers forget to set things up properly from time to time, or an uninformed salesperson can be at the controls. Unfortunately, it happens, even at the best dealers.

If all they did was move the cable from one speaker to the other than they did, as I suggested, have an incorrect setup for your demo. The correct/suggested crossover point for a SuperSat 50C in a TritonCinema system is 120 Hz. I have no idea what it would be for the other center, but I'm sure it is much lower. A demo of these two centers at the same crossover point would be the perfect example of a bad demo setup.

As you've read, the SuperSat 50C is a Satellite, not a quasi-full range speaker like the other center you mentioned, and therefore is not designed to be listened to full-range. If you desire further information on this topic, check out our website FAQ section on this topic.
