So I first received my Triton Ones earlier this week and was blown away. They were amazing out of the box. Today I got the SuperCenter Ref and first impression is the dialogue in movies is muttled. FWIW, a phase plug fell out of one woofer and I'm waiting on a replacement. Not sure how much that could play a role. The speaker is in the center portion of a BDI Corridor console. Does this matter? It seems a bit better with the doors open, but the console is designed to house center channels. I'm hoping some time will get things settled in and working better. At the moment it just doesn't have any of the clarity of the Triton Ones I'm using for L/R channels. I'm currently not using any room correction and simply adjusted channel levels with an SPL meter.

Any thoughts?

Hey, I know exactly what the problem is. I also have the same entertainment center the corridor 8179.
I have an XXL Center channel and it sounded muffled until one day I opened the door and the sound came out of the box..
Exactly in front of the folded ribbon Tweeter is about 3 inchs cubed of wood
the framework for the doors are placed directly in the center of the speaker.
I've called them to see if I can get half doors or the center of the Avion 8929
With the fabric centers drawers.
Try keeping the doors open and let me know it that works

My first center was damaged and the replacement was much better. But you’re right about the doors. They muffel the highs by 2-3 dB when I run REW with doors closed vs open. Open is noticeably better to the ear as well. .
