Many thanks for ur response to my post re spades, etc. My room is on the smaller side so placement of the Tritons does not require the 10' cords supplied- would lie to reduce the clutter (my wifes idea and not a bad one)-the plug has 2 prongs, can I replace it with a 3 prong or would that create problems? Many more choices in the 3 prong type but want to do the correct thing. Thanks for ur advise.

It does not matter, the jack on the back of the speaker only has two prongs so the third wire will not be connected to the speaker even if you use a three prong cord.
