Interesting - sometimes the particular processor's setup menu language and implementation varies a bit from the norm, making our general setup recommendations not necessarily a "one size fits all" guide, I am not completely familiar with the Onkyo setup so there may well be something like this to be addressed. If other Onkyo Triton owners on the forum could weigh in with help on this that would be great!

But this is all about the bass and I don't sense the bass is the issue? You might want to try separating them MORE than the "X" distance apart and toeing them in more too. They do like boundaries for low frequency performance so it is OK to get them fairly close to the side walls.

Well it has taken me sometime to find out what is going on but I think I nailed it. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with the sound. Last night I started using a dvd audio test disk. It was doing a simple test saying"left front", "center" and so on. When it hit my right speaker there was a HUGE drop in sound. This expalined why the right front had to be turned up 3db using an spl meter. I corrected the settings to match the left and center and still there was a huge sonic difference. Today I put on a dts cd and cranked it up. When listening to the left speaker it sounds great but when I put my ear to the right speaker it's missing what I would call the mids? I am not an audio expert I'm just trying to explain what is missing. There is something huge missing, though. I just spent the last hour getting to the back of my receiver to double check that the positive and negatives were correct. The next test is going to be to switch the left speaker to the right and see how that goes.

I wanted to thank you for all your help and just wanted to keep you posted on what may be going on.

Hold the phones. When I was switching the speakers around I noticed that the right speaker plug was loose. It appeared to be in the speaker socket by sight but it just fell off as soon as I moved the speaker. I plugged it in tight and BAM. I think the right speaker has been running the whole time with out any base. I feel really stupid but I think I found the problem. I think I've been listening to just one woofer all this time.

If this is the issue(I'm sure it is) I am so sorry for troubling everyone.
