Hi
I'm not sure what your dealer's reference re too loud would be.. too loud for neighbors?, your hearing?.
Anyway, at 75-90 dB, that's well within the capability of your Parasound 21+ at 300 wpc into 8 ohms, and the highly efficient T Ref's. In fact, both would be doing that with ease, with no issues of amp overload or clipping, and the Ref's with plenty of headroom to spare. And that is safe to play during speaker break in also. That combo could easily play past 100 dB. I often play in the 75-90 dB range, and the music is gorgeous.
Sustained listening above 100 dB presents a different issue, possible long term hearing loss, though lots of folks play into the low 100 dB's. I don't because my ears don't like it, not because my system couldn't. You may want to ask your dealer what specifically his concern is about playing in the 75-90 dB range.
Hope this helps.
