Hello,

Both of Triton 2 Towers go silent when I play Subwoofer Test Tones from Marantz SR7011 AVR.

1. Test tones of Left and Right Channels work well
2. Green light on backside of Tritons were on during the test.
3. Increasing level either on AVR or on Tritons and on both did not help.
4. Interchanging / replacing the cables didn’t help.

What could be the issue ?
Please help

a) How are the speakers connected, speaker wire or speaker wire plus sub-in?
b) Does the powered bass section operate during normal operation?
c) What are you bass management settings on your AVR?

That's a start.... if you answer these we can probably point you in the correct direction.

Thanks for the your response

A. Obviously speaker wires plus LFE
B. Green light is on. But I don’t hear good bass at 12 o clock position of knob. if I turn the knob behind the speakers little bit , it makes hell out of boomy bass
C. LFE & set to 2 subwoofers

OK, thanks. We'll just assume sub out is LFE only and the L/R mains are set to Large. Did you just get these speakers new, or have you had them a while (or did you buy them used)? If new, I am suspicious that something other than the speaker is at fault.

To continue on, do I understand your point B to mean the bass section works but goes from too soft to too loud when you turn the dial? Do both speakers behave this way? As a final test, unplug the LFE cable from the AVR and tap on the tip, do the Tritons' subs not make a sound?

If so, sounds like some type of failure in the electronics and you should contact the selling dealer with the serial numbers and the problem description so they can get your speakers serviced.
