Hi,

I am planning on purchasing the Triton Refs and since I do not have any old gear, I want to buy stuff that really fits to the Speakers.
My Goal is to first have a 2.0 System for listening to HQ Music via a Network Player (DSD, Tidal master..), then over the next years, extend the System for h/t use. (like 5.2)

What would be a recommended Setup?
I was considering Emotiva XPA-3 or PS Audio Stellar M700.
Emotiva Advantage is that I could extend the 2.0 System to a 5.x or 7.x later on by adding other GE Speakers and connecting to an AC Receiver.

Any thoughts?
thx

If I were you I would get the best 2 channel amp you can afford now. Don't worry about home theatre. The reason I say this is if you spend correctly for 2 channel you will be sorted for music now and later as amps for music are more important for you Left and Right channels.

Have you looked at the Bel canto m600? The reason I asked is my dealer preffered these over the m700 (and I love ps audio gear) Check them out second hand, thays where I got a good deal.

In my experience
Mono>stereo>multi channel when it comes to amps for music production.

Once you upgrade for home theatre I think you cant go wrong with emotiva gear as it's punchy, dynamic with very competitive pricing.

I personally have bel canto m600 with an emotiva Gen 2 xpa5 for surround duties.

Good advice so far. Plus, you can always add another amp for home theater later.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner

Hello,

If it were me and I did not have any previous equipment to deal with then I would probably look at the following amp manufacturers. For 2.0 sound they all will have excellent choices and you can always add additional amps for HT later when you are ready. Seeing as you have the budget to purchase the Triton Refs then you really want to have amps that do the speakers justice.

1. Bryston
2. McIntosh
2. Classe Audio
3. Anthem
4. Parasound
5. Krell

The manufacturers are not listed in any particular order, your budget and sound preferences will dictate which amp you choose. Keep us posted on your journey as the Triton Refs will sound great with any of these amps.

Thanks

Don
