When playing movies with a 5.1 or 5.1.2 . My system I want to get Triton 5 ,supercenter xl , rear surrounds mpx and Atmos 650 and hsu vtf15 with Yamaha rxa 2070 do you suggest I set the mains to small and crossover at 80 just feel these big boys have mids and some nice base crossing over at 80 would maybe not do them justice ..I'm planning to add a hsu vtf15 in movie watching do you put center left and right at small crossover at 80 or do you cross over at 60 center and front speakers ..Now when playing music what's the best way to set your mains up ...play in pure direct or 2 channel stereo and put them at large and turn off the subwoofer or do you set at large and bass through subwoofer as well ..curious on the best way to use these speakers for movie and music watching

I think I just answered this on another thread, so I will be brief here. AND be aware that there are many ways to set up your system and it is your system, so ultimately you will want to set it up the way it sounds best to you. Please feel free to experiment.
BUT, for someone new at this and just wondering where to start, I would say the system you describe should be wonderful.
AND I would set all speakers at small, set the center at 80, and with the T 5s I would probably either set them at 80 too, or perhaps drop that down to 60 or so. And run the sub with movies and music.
I (personal preference here) would have only one setup, using the same settings with the sub for movies and music. Really there is no difference, great music sound and great movie sound are the same, UNLESS you might prefer to boost the bass on the sub for movie explosions, earthquakes, etc.

I know this was answered before but I see different responses ..on another threat I read where the moderator said move the mains to large .. I've always heard when playing towers and full range speakers u want to take advantage of them and run at large ..as for music people usually always set to large 2 channel and run the sub and the question is do u set bass to subwoofer and fronts setting or just subwoofer so the question is tricky really alot of people feel if they run full range towers to small ur taking away the low frequency that the towers were ment to do

Everyone has different opinions it's definitely not like the Bible that's why I ask questions and I read so much topics and ask experts because people opinion vary like some tell me to run the Triton 5 use a emotive 300 and some say no just run the Yamaha 2070 or Marantz 6012 will be sufficient..some say using a external amp is best and some say it doesn't do much and a waste of money ..for my setup 7.1 or 5.1.2 some say use 7000 n 650 some say use mpx or 650 so as you see lol to much opinions and readings actually makes things confusing ..thanks

Like for instance in Randy tips he says not to run audeysy eq ..I thought the whole purpose of getting Marantz or Yamaha are for ypao or auddesy room correction and speaker eq and calibration that helps fine tune ur system ..Is Sandy saying these speakers do not need these AVR to run room eq and help set the speakers at flat ect
