Not sure what products you feel they would never review - seems to me they have reviewed virtually every commercially available audio product on the planet at some point.
Moderator Dude,
It seems to me that a lot of products don't get reviewed and I'm sure a lot of brands. Anthem is a great example. Their AVRs get a significant number of reviews but if you look for the educated processors and amps, it's pretty scarce. Im still waiting on an AVM-60 review.
I'm sure there are plenty of examples of great products that never get reviewed by the major publications such as Stereophile, while other brands get maximum exposure. I'm sure there are many reasons for this erratic media coverage. I don't question the content of the reviews, but rather how the products were selected to be reviewed in the first place. There really can't be that many people out there interested in $20,000 speaker cables that would warrant such reviews and advertising dollars for those "pages". Cars, however, are an entirely different story... They have much more universal appeal.
Cheers,
T Cobe

Related, somewhat, is the fact that they tend to review what they are interested in (makes it more fun) and they generally ignore stuff that is just not that good (hence the lack of bad reviews). As hobbyists, we are supposed to enjoy reading about stuff we can't afford and may seem silly or outrageous, and the magazines know that....
And it is both true and unfortunate that high-performance cars have more universal appeal than high-performance hi-fi. It's a shame ... people don't know what they are missing.... spread the word.

The thing I don't like about constant high end reviews is that the industry alienates a lot of people and perspective audiophiles. Yes, car magazines cover exotic automobiles, but they provide even more coverage on Toyotas, Hondas, Cheverolets, and Fords. They understand how to cater to a wider market. This is an important point and one that seems central to GET.
I can also say that if I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd replace my car before my T1s!
Cheers,

T Cobe wrote: It's the same with the other publications regarding Anthem and many brands. Sometimes I also see the same product reviewed on the various sites by different reviewers. There just seems to be a lack of rhyme or reason to me.
The reasons are possibly political (relationships matter), possibly logistical (some products are time consuming and/or difficult to review), but I agree and can tell you there is simply no reason why a vendor wouldn't get product reviews ... IF they want them reviewed.
