Hi, I have purchase Triton 1 and running them on Arcam AVR450. However, don't get the feel of big speaker and sound is subdued and sometime not loud enough even at full volume. I normally play music though Apple TV and sometime iPhone.

What could be wrong with the set-up?, Do I need to add a DAC or streamer?, if yes, which one would you recommend.

ak,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Triton 1s!

Arcam makes good gear and the T1s are fantastic, so something is amiss. What other gear do you have? Do you have a disc player of any sort? I was able to get pretty good sound with my Oppo BDP-103 into my Integra AVR when I first purchased my T1s. I preferred the sound of the analog outputs from the Oppo into my AVR hooked into the CD input. Are you listening exclusively to streaming music?

If you can share a little more info with us, some of our members may be able to make better recommendations. I will say that using an Apple TV and iPhone as a source and listening to streaming music is probably not the highest quality music. No matter how good your speakers and other electronics are: bad sounding music in equals bad sounding music out. I don't believe your problem here is the Arcam or the Tritons.

Cheers,

T Cobe

If we understand correctly that with the volume turned way up the sound is not loud, then you have an issue with the input level your receiver is getting from your source. Make sure the source device volume control is at max for all digital streaming sources.

And as mentioned, unless you are using a full rez streaming service (Deezer Tidal), that's not the best source to hear what the Tritons are capable of producing.
