I will be moving to a new home in a few weeks and am excited that our TV/GE room will be a more ideal layout for speakers. Our current room is L shaped and requires LF to be in a corner while RF is out in the open. And MLP is with backs on another wall. Fail!

New room is a large rectangle where MLP will be in middle. MLP will be facing one of the longer walls. So plenty of room horizontally. I could even get extra speakers for a 'front wide' set up, but won't be doing that.

What is the ideal distance between LF and RF triton 5's?

And should I then try to place couch/MLP that exact same distance from one of them? For instance if ideal distance between LF and RF is 9 feet - would I then ideally have MLP 9 feet from LF (and RF) - or would it be 9 feet from the spot that is directly in between the two speakers?

Congrats on the new room. Set them as wide apart as possible without being too close to the corners, toed in towards the MLP. Same distance apart as away (distance from center to MLP) is a common rule (and in the owners manual). Don't forget to read through Sandy's Tips on the website Support menu.
