Hi, this is my first post on this forum about my newly-acquired Triton Ones, used in 2-channel with a preamp and power amp separates. I plug the subwoofers into the AC but read in the manual that the subs will work even if only the speaker cables are connected. The bass management system will send the low frequencies to the subwoofer with all the benefits. This probably applies only if using home theater system or processor.

No, the powered woofer section does not work without power.

Hi NickC and welcome to the forum!!!
Congratulations on having bought some REALLY great speakers!!!!
Plug the sub sections of both into the wall, hook your speaker wires from your amps to the speaker inputs and you are good to go.
The speakers will sort out what needs to go to the tweeter, midrange and subs.
There are also LFE inputs on your Ones, but you would only use them if you have a home theater processor or pre-amp that sends the LFE signal to subs separately.
Set the dials for volume on the Ones to around 9 o'clock and see if that is a natural amount of bass to go with your music.. IF it is not, keep turning them up until you have a good mix, bass and music.
Then play with location, distances, toe in, etc until you get the stereo imaging and sound you have a right to expect from these great speakers.
Hope this helps, but if you have more questions, this is the place to ask them.
Have fun with it, God Bless,
Wayne

Hi Nick C,

As Wayne has said, welcome to the world of Golden Ear (GE) speakers and welcome to this forum. There are a number of us who are willing to help you with setup suggestions. Wayne has offered one recommendation in his post and I am going to offer another idea.

If your amplifier has a sub-woofer output (RCA-type connector), you can connect this output to the LFE inputs on your Triton Ones. Use an RCA-type cable splitter to connect the one output to both Triton One inputs. Consult your amplifier manual to determine setup options for sending low-frequency signals to the sub output.

If you have this connection option and, if your amplifier provides internal cross-over settings to split the signals, you have another way to drive your Tritons. You can experiment with both Wayne's approach and this one for 2-channel music listening.

Also, check out threads in this Forum which discuss various connection options in detail.

As Wayne has said, don't hesitate to post your questions and comments in this forum. You'll get help, usually pretty quickly.

Happy listening,

Art
