Hi there,
I bought Triton II speakers in the US two years ago. This summerI moved to France where the voltage is 220v. What should I do and how can I proceed?
Thanks for your help.
Christophe

You need a voltage converter kit...220-electronics.com
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Sorry Anthem, he will need something much more powerful than that, IMHO. I sent my equipt back to the manufacturers and got them to change it all over internally to 220 VAC before I moved overseas. Never bought a thing after that first time that was not dual voltage.
All the best to you, Christophe

Thanks Wayne - that was my initial thought. I will contact my local dealer to check how this can be done.
All the best

Good Christophe,
Sometimes it is as simple as them flipping a switch and changing a fuse, or just a switch. Not sure about these speakers. You can do it externally, with a converter box, but it will have to provide enough amps for you, not just what you would run a shaver off of. And they look bad, take up room. But they wll work if adequate.
All the best, happy listening when you get it sorted,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi gang - let me shed some light.

The speakers are not dual voltage. The amplifier module can be swapped (and input fuse rating changed), but that would require the purchase of the amp module and removal/installation service each time a voltage change was required. The use of a outboard transformer (voltage converter) is actually our recommended path, you just need to use a pretty good sized one. We suggest a unit rated at 1200-1500 watts will work to run the two Triton Twos without any power loss.

I would be remiss not to mention that the 120v units can be converted to 220v with a simple jumper snip on the amp module. The reverse is not true (220v units cannot be converted to 120v units), and to "unsnip" and return to 120v operation would require a technician and high-end soldering equipment. So, again, the converter is the recommended cost effective and easily reversible solution.
