@Moderator....

Assuming Golden Ear knows the answer to this question, and further assuming GE is willing to disclose the answer to it, please advise the tolerance to the listed efficiency sensitivity of 93.25 db. By this I mean the +/- quality assurance passability. Thank you. :)

Hello Moderator. Would you be so kind as to provide an answer to my question? I'd venture to point out that other T Ref owner's would also like to know. Thank you. :)

Ladies / Gentlemen, I have the answer to my question.

T Ref sensitivity accuracy is +/- 3 db of spec. T Ref deviation from one T Ref to another is +/- 1db of spec. It is of the opinion of GET that the deviation is consistent with much more expensive and/or "hand made" speakers.

So what this (good) news means is that - hypothetically and for example - if you are listening to music which contains a 1000 Hz signal, the sensitivity at 1000 Hz can be anywhere between 90.25db and 96.25db. Using that example, suppose one T Ref is playing at 94db. In that case, the other T Ref (assuming you have a pair in a two channel setup) would also be playing at 94db, however, it is conceivable that the other T Ref could be playing somewhere between 93db and 95db.

GDHAL,

Interesting information, thanks.

Those numbers seem to imply that the speaker pairs are matched to the +/- 1dB spec during manufacturing, at least for the specified test signal.

In Stereophile's review of the TRefs, John Atkinson stated:

"The GoldenEar's sensitivity is specified as a very high 93.25dB/2.83V/m; my estimate was close to that at 92.5dB(B)/2.83V/m, which places the Triton Reference in exalted company."

I don't know what test signal Atkinson used for that measurement, but he measured close to nominal specified sensitivity.

Charlie, there is no implication here. Data I am providing comes directly from GET. Consider it in addition to what JA indicates, not instead of. I've gone above-and-beyond JA measurements (publicly provided data) to ask a question and seek answer to said question that JA does not address. The concept here (this thread) is to understand not only how accurate the sensitivity tolerance is, but how accurate AND SIMILAR one can expect said tolerance to be between two *supposedly the same* set of speakers (in this case T Ref).

I might also point out that the data I provided in my previous posts herein this thread are applicable when the speaker is operating within 20-20000 Hz. Above and below that the numbers may not apply.

GDHAL,

There was no implication implied. I knew what you were getting at; all I did was add a data point.
