Hi,

I currently have the Triton 3+ and am considering upgrading to the 2+. I have 1 main concern. I’ve heard that the 3+ is more forgiving in terms of having less need to play around with the position of the speakers to get great imaging. I attached 2 pictures to show how I don’t have much leeway in terms of the amount of space I have to move my speakers around. So I was wondering if it should be a concern of mine that once I get the 2+ in my space that there’s a good chance I won’t be able to get the center image and wide sound stage that I’m looking for. My Triton 3+ currently has a fantastic image with their current placement shown in the pictures for what it’s worth. They’re 8.5 feet apart from each other, and the listening position is 10 feet from each speaker.

Thanks

Hi, sruth27

Sorry this hasn't been responded to... first I've heard of the 3's being more forgiving of postitioning, hasn't been my experience with any of the Tritons. They all image well.

I think you'd find the 2+'s a big step up, and your speaker width and listening position should work just fine with the 2+'s also.

Just my opinion. HAPPY LISTENING!

sruth27,

Nice set-up, I'm glad you are enjoying the Triton Three+. The 3+ is a surprisingly good performer as the entry level speaker in the line-up of the powered Triton option. Full range, dynamic, and a very easy speaker to listen too without experiencing listener fatigue.

In regard to set-up, the 2+ will be very similar to the 3+ and I've not experienced anyone having set-up issues with the 2+ over the 3+. Set-up issues are generally room related. If you haven't experienced issues with the 3+ and placement, I suspect you won't have issues with the 2+. It looks like you're in a decent sized room, so I don't you'll have issues with loading the room.

As good as the 3+ are, the 2+ will take it to the next level, there is quite a noticeable improvement with the 2+. Dual mid-range drivers in a D'Appolito configuration, additional active woofer, larger passives, and more cabinet volume.

You should be able to easily achieve a greater sense of sound stage, separation, and lifelike sound stage than what you currently have with the 3+.

I have lived with the Two+ now for 3 years or so in a dedicated 2 channel system and still thrilled with the performance of what the 2+ can do.

Hope this helps. Any questions let us know.

Also, if you do decide to upgrade to the Two+ I would hope to see an update after you spend some time with them.

Thanks again, happy listening.
