I have a question that needs verification from more informed minds than mine.
I am using Aon3 speakers as rear surrounds in my system. Audyssey XT32 is being used in a Denon AVR7200WA.
After running the calibration, I find the surrounds very shrill and uncomfortable. Audyssey was turned off and I looked at the manual EQ settings. Both the 2k and 4k eq sliders are maxed out (+6db) for the Aon3 speakers. This has to be causing the harshness. Should I point the tweeters right at the calibration microphone during calibration? Would this take some of the boost out of the 2 and 4k eq sliders? The tweeters are firing about 2 feet over my ears right now.

If you can manually set these boosted sliders back to 0 it should sound much better. Not sure why Audyssey came up with those boosts - they seem pretty extreme.
