I have to end my thoughts of having a monster system with TRef's and SVS SB16 pair, because I'm moving into an Apt. 3/1/18 I have previously owned the 5's but I also had a SB13 to go with it. So I only know what they sound like (and loved them of course) with a powerful sub. To not be hated by neighbours or receive eviction warnings from the office I need to stay clear of BIG BASS. Here's the setup I'm thinking about T5's both front/rear, XXL center, 4 HTR invisa 7000 for atmos, Marantz SR7011 to go with my newly bought Sony XBR75X900E & OPPO UDP203. I know that setup of speakers will sound great for music, but movies will certainly lack that low down rumble and boom factor. I never thought to try my 5's without the sub because I never thought I would move back to an Apt. But here I am DOH!! what sayeth the group here. I know I can count on Wayne to chime in and am grateful for his and others here that are giving of their time and opinion. Thank you in advance to all

Hi Bambam841, sorry to hear you have to move into an apt. I would be a better thing IF you had neighbors you really wanted to annoy!!!
Guessing you don't.
Honestly, I think you could just turn down the sub and KEEP IT!!!
But, long story short, that did sound like a very reasonable apt. system you are suggesting.
I can't see anything wrong with it IF you are trying to cool it on the bass.
Shame, but sometimes in life we have to make tough decisions.
All the best, happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

When I lived in apartments, there was no setting low enough to not annoy the neighbors. I’d consider headphones for occasions when you’re listening to content with a heavy bass emphasis.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner
