WOW bradorner,
That sounds awesome, pls tell us more!!!!
What are you using to send all 11.2 signals Do you have height speakers too?
What does it add for the movie experience? Any comparisons?
I can only do 9.1, which is better in your opinion, wides or height?
Thanks, and enjoy,
God Bless,
Wayne

Wayne, The 7's are great great speakers. As wides, they are mating seamlessly with my Triton 2's. I had done some tests a few months ago using SS50's on superstands as wides. They also sounded great, but there was a slightly noticable timbre change from the Triton 2's. Really slight, so if anyone is thinking of SS50s as wides, go for it, they are great too. But the 7's really have the full body and upper mids dialed in with the 2's. I noticed the same seamlessness when I upgraded from SS50C to the Supercenter XL.

Speakers: R/L - Triton 2, C - Supercenter XL, Wides - Triton 7s, Surrounds - SS50C, Heights - SS50, Rear Surround Martin Logan Motion FX dipoles, Subwoofer - Paradigm Studio 12.

All I can say is the sound is spectacular. My dealer pulled me into their $100K B&W outfitted high-end room. It sounded great as one would expect. But I think my home sounded every bit as good at 1/10 the cost and with the imaging bliss provided by the GE speakers, location in my room was a non-issue - not so with the $100K B&W room.

Re heights vs wides. Until added the 7's as wides, was running 9.1 using the SS50s as heights (rather than wides) only because the layout of the room wasn't great visually for the SS50's as wides, and occassionally people would knock the SS50 over when I had them as wides. I've since rearranged a few things so the 7's don't look quite as lonely as the S50 did. In my experience, wides have much more benefit than highs. Both the Audysee DSX and DTS Neo:X highs processing is pretty subtle, where the wides processing is more pronounced. If you have to choose and layout isn't an issue, I'd recommend wides over highs.

As for driving, I'm using an Onkyo TX-NR3010. I have 9 Emotiva monoblocks (XPA-1 Gen2s for R/L/C and XPA-1Ls for all the surrounds). I'm using the Onkyo to power the highs. I started off with an Anthem MRX 700 for 7.1. The Anthem's video board died and I got impatient waiting for the repair to return, so I bought the Onkyo (a very nice open box deal). The Onkyo is a great receiver. I think the Anthem's room correction is superior to Audysee Mult32, but only slightly. The Onkyo's video, usability, and the 11.2 capabilities keep it in my living room. The Anthem is now in my bedroom.

I've been incrementally building this up over the past 3+years. I started down the separates road with an Emotiva XPA5-Gen 2, added an XPA2-Gen2, then 3 XPA-1L monoblocks. I Loved the monoblocks so much that I eventually traded in the XPA-5 and XPA-2 against a couple of XPA-1 G2s, then I finally added the remaing 1Ls and a 1 for the center and addtional 2 surround channels.
Living Room:
Triton 1 - R,L
SuperCenter XL - Center
Triton 2 - Surrounds
SuperSat 50 - Rear surrounds
Emotiva XMC-1 pre/pro
Emotiva XPA-1 G2 monoblocks, R/L/C,
Emotiva XPA-1L monoblocks: surrounds, rears

Home Office Office:
Triton 7 - R,L
Emotiva XPA1-L, Stealth DC-1 DAC

Well bradorner, that is another WOW!!!!
Great system and setup!!!!!
Thanks for the write up and answers!!!!
I think I would agree with all you said about the matching of the Triton 2s and 7s. I want to try the SC XLs too. And I agree about mono blocks, they are definitely the way to go, IF you can. At least for he main, important speakers.
I guess I will just have to take your word for it on the wides, my system could run them, but my home theater is too small and the door into the theater would knock down whatever wide speaker I put there.
Honestly 7.1 is great for me already.
But I am glad you got such a cool system.
Enjoy!!! And thanks for writing.
God Bless, Wayne

Not a great shot as it was shot with my phone. Will come up with s better shot next week when I get home.

Each blue light is an Emo amp. Receiver is on the bottom. Have a screen above the TV and projector for watching movies. The GE/Emo combination is pure joy.
