I purchased a pair of Aon 3's and a Rega Brio-R to accompany my Rega Apollo CD player and P2 turntable. Wow! What a step up in clarity, detail and dimensionality/soundstage! I never heard such clarity and spaciousness in the music coming out of my system before. Even monophonic vinyl sounds amazingly clear (listening to Peggy Lee - Guitars a la Lee as I type). I can see myself being satisfied with this system for many years to come. My next upgrade will be to get these Aon 3's on some quality speaker stands instead of the shelving unit they currently live on. Anyone looking for a good quality pair of bookshelf speakers should definitely give these a test drive.

Thanks, Anthem. I've seen the Sanus stands and actually had one of the high end pairs picked out. But reconfiguring my apartment is not wise right now so I'm going to live with my current set up until I can move.

Hi Anthem, a long time in coming but I did move about a year after our last exchange and ended up purchasing a pair of Sanus stands, though not the model you posted a picture of--they are great. They not only look good, they help the Aon3's to really shine.

Another interesting point: I've had a pair of audioquest speaker cables now for more than a decade. I've only just discovered, this year, that the cables have an "amp end" and a "speaker end". I never knew/realized this and I had one connected backwards, now for many years. I only discovered it when doing some redecorating and changing furniture which necessitated disconnecting the components and having to reconnect them again. Wow!!! I feel like I have a brand new stereo system and as much as I liked my system before, I wasn't experiencing it's full capacity. There is so much depth and richness to the sound now. I feel like such a dummy! But better late than never to figure this out. Moral of the story, pay attention to your cables--if they're directional make sure you pay attention to that!
