Hello it's been a while!

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on diagnosing an issue I've been having with my home theater. Everytime I fire up my AVR and start a video or a bit of music, within about 2-4 seconds after the music starts my right tower (a Triton 2) makes a gentle "thump" noise. It's just once, and done, not horribly loud or sharp, and it seems to take longer to happen at quieter volumes to start on my AVR.

There's no other issue that I can tell, but it concerns me.

Troubleshooting:

I checked the line voltage coming into the AVR and Triton's, they are both fine.
I checked that all my connections from speaker to AVR were tight. They are.

Current Setup:

AVR: Onkyo TX-NR838
Towers: GoldenEar Triton 2
Center: GoldenEar SuperCenter
Surrounds: GoldenEar SuperSat 3
Current System:

Projector - Sony VPL-HW55ES
AVR - Onkyo TX-NR838
Fronts - Triton 2s
Center - SuperCenterXL
Surrounds - SuperSat 3s

Ask me about espresso, I'm an expert at that... I'm just learning about audio!

Hi Tetrall, The sound you've described is most likely being caused by the built-in amplifier in this Triton 2 tower powering up or turning on. Ultimately, it's normal for the built-in amplifiers in the Triton towers to produce a clicking, or popping, or gentle thumping sound when they power up. It's been my experience this would be considered normal. Since this is the only "problem" you're experiencing with the subwoofer portion of this tower, I wouldn't be too concerned.
