Marvin Electronics, Fort Worth, TX, 3D and New Innovations Event - I had the pleasure of participating at Marvin Electronics’ (Fort Worth, TX) recent “Latest Innovations” in-store Event. We were demonstrating the new GoldenEar SuperCinema 3 system (winner of the CEA’s 2011 Design and Engineering award for Best Home Theater Speaker System).

The setup (see photos) was in a nice size room with one of the new Anthem receivers and a new 50” Samsung 3D TV and BluRay player.

So how was the sound? Boy, oh boy, it wowed everyone! From every customer who heard it, to Marvin's owners, to the store’s sales and installation staff - everyone commented that the little system performed way beyond its size and price range. This dynamite system sounded so open, natural and uncolored that everybody was just immediately drawn into enjoying the music and movies we were playing. One customer, an owner of speakers nearly 10x the price, said he's never heard anything like this at an affordable price. He was especially taken with the folded ribbon's smooth and extended high end. Another person, wanting to replace 25-year-old large tower speakers, said his search was over. He had resigned himself to thinking he couldn't find anything that sounded this good, especially since he needed them to look good too. He was floored by the performance and elegant styling, proclaiming they not only sound better but looked better than anything he's seen.
