Further to the mention of this new feature a few days ago on another forum thread is this article from Audioholics today. The below, from the intro paragraph, again focuses on the key point for using room correction systems successfully with the GoldenEar (and other, presumably) speakers:

... allows for ... limiting to a certain range of frequencies for room correction. We are particularly excited about this since you can now limit Audyssey room EQ to below the room transition frequency (300Hz) to concentrate where it's needed most - the bass frequencies.

They call it the "room transition frequency", which I believe is the same thing as the more technical "Schroeder Frequency" I mentioned. Here's the link to the full article, if you're interested:
