Hi all I thought it’s best I ask this question on the Golden Ear site for probably better answers from experience with the products. I finally have converted all of my speakers to Golden Ear. Just curious what the cross over frequency should be set to as I know many home theater people say 80 for everything. Just want to make sure I have it set for best results. My speakers are as per below.
Fronts Triton 5’s
Center Super Center XL
Left & Right surround Aon 2’s
Front & rear height/Atmos Super Sat 3
Subs 2-Forcefield 3’s

Appreciate any thoughts.

Hi, Aburguy

Congrats on converting all your speakers to a GEt configuration! The sound field will be totally seamless.

Some thoughts on crossovers for those specific speakers. With the FF3 subs, the other speakers, set as small, might benefit from a little fine tuning on crossovers. First, the T5's have pretty hefty bass capabilities, you may want to try a 40 Hz crossover, and try settings from there to 80 Hz to find which sounds best. Second, the SuperSat 3's may be better set at 100 Hz to prevent over stressing them at high sound levels.. Third, with the SuperCenter XL, you may want to try settings from 60 to 80 Hz to find which sounds most balanced with your T5's and subs. Third, 80 Hz seems a pretty good setting for the Aon 2's.

Hope this helps a bit. Happy listening and enjoy your new system!

Let us know what works for you please. Every gear and speaker set up is some different, as are room conditions and listening preferences. No right or wrong set ups, just whatever works for the listener.

Happy listening!
