Hi folks.

I just received my Triton One today. Getting used to it, and step by step finding the right settings and position.

Now fir the center... my speakers are about 3m apart and distance.
My current center speaker does not match.
Now I know all about the "why" of center speakers.
But now I am thinking, to do without. The One have a pretty good focus after all.

Thoughts??

Hi TonB!

I have a similar setup, and I do not have a center channel. When everything is well positioned , the Tritons do produce a laser sharp center phantom image.

I don't want to bore you with stuff you may already know, but a pure 2-channel system does produce an interference pattern because of the width of your head and your ear placement. This can cause a reduction in sound level at your ears near 1.9 kHz or so. This happens to be a frequency range where there is a lot of speech information. That's why people tend to prefer a center channel for home theater, and that's why speech audio in movies is usually pushed into the center channel. Having that extra source overcomes the 2-channel weakness for speech.

I don't have a center channel because of the way my system has evolved. Adding that center channel would require a lot of changes, not just adding a speaker. So I live with it.
