Well Bro Anthem, you made me look!!!
I almost never can play your posts, and this one is the same.
But your cigarette comment made me think this song would be a sultry, sexy one, so I searched and found it. Was not what I expected, was more High Brow, the fat lady sings kinda song than I expected from your comment.
I tried other versions, all the same. None I could play through and enjoy.
BUT I did find this version that I thought was a hoot, because it was obviously uploaded from VINYL. You can hear the snap, crackle, pop even on the YouTube:

God Bless,
Wayne

Bro Anthem, glad the glowin' tubes are bringing you sweet music, sounded pretty sweet with what little tubes I have.
Do you find the KT66s more powerful, a little more heavy hitting than the EL34s? That is what I have read but never had the opportunity to hear them. For smooth and sweet the 34s are VERY hard to beat, but are not that powerful, they usually get run in push-pull config to give more power.
Any insights would be welcome.
Bro Roman, great pic as always.
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi all,

My first post to this thread. I like most music, but I'm generally a classical guy. Several months ago I bought a Mercury Living Presence CD set, which has turned out to be a wonderful collection. Last night, I was in the mood for Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, so I gave this one a listen. 1962 recording by the Minneapolis Symphony under Stanislaw Skrowaczewski. A great performance and one of the best recorded things I've ever heard. Unbelievable imaging precision and depth. I could hear details in orchestration I've never heard before. Those 3 microphone recordings can really work!
