Another new disc in the mail yesterday. Pretty good album but I'll admit I missed some bass accompaniment. Thanks for another great reference, Anthem.

It may be Friday morning, but at my house it's also Sunday Night at the Vangaurd. This latest album from Fred Hersch places him in a trio with John Hebert on bass and Eric McPherson on drums. It was recorded on March 27th, this year, at the Village Vanguard in NYC.

Plenty of great stuff here! Track number 2, Serpentine, really allows the T1s to shine from top to bottom with the cymbals at the top end and bass at the bottom. This is a great modern jazz recording and I definitely recommend it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything on YouTube to accompany my post. It's worth tracking down!

MarchFourth Marching Band / Rise Up (2009) -- Tongue & Groove

Listening to MarchFourth Marching Band and watching The Water Boy...nice combo.

The Water Boy is hilarious! That and Happy Gilmore are my favorite Adam Sandler movies. Both great slapstick fun. They went down hill a bit from there, IMO.

Ana Caram performing the Title track from her 1989 Chesky Records album: Rio After Dark. Ana has an incredible voice and this is typical Chesky Records fare: meaning it is an excellent recording. Levels are a little low on this one and I'm running about 10 dB higher on the volume knob. I'll bet I'm flirting with 90 dB on this one and it sounds great!

This is my halftime show for College Game Day. Badgers started out slow today but scored 35 points in the second quarter. It's been a great year for Big Ten football! I can't believe that Iowa is still unranked after defeating the Wolverines. What a competitive conference this season. The Ohio State versus Michigan match up next week should be a great game!

SQ continues to impress! This was another disk I was able to clear off of my wishlist this week. Highly recommended! I think this was one I pulled from Sandy's list of demo worthy albums.
