Miles arrived today. Miles Davis/Kind of Blue -- Freddie Freeloader.

T Cobe... I noticed a little frizziness (here and there) on almost every song. On the last couple of songs, there was a low level distortion in the right speaker (background wasn't black)...somewhat distracting. The music is a little "laid back", even for my tastes...would make a great Sunday afternoon listen. Overall, a good cd.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Anthem,

I noticed some of that too after listening to the album few times. It's worse at higher volumes. What struck me was how dynamic the recording is. I wonder if this is some post production tinkering to raise certain levels. I have noticed a lot of hiss and other background noise on a lot of old recordings. I think this may be my first LP when I finally invest in a turntable. The album sounded better at a lower volume. Despite the occasional issues with the recording, I loved the music. This is my kind of jazz.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Going up!!!!!

I see Bro T Cobe got the best listening spot where Miles sounds the best---a little frizzy at times but the best.

Ha Ha boys, I could not help myself.

To each his own, ENJOY!!!!!

God Bless, Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Sunday afternoon...listening to another selection from Miles Davis/Kind of Blue -- Flamenco Sketches.

I really appreciated Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane's sax on this one...made for some great listening.

Music Direct has -- Miles Davis -- Kind of Blue, on a Numbered Ultra 32-bit Mastering CD for $39.99.
Think the sound would be vastly superior?

Wayne: Does your elevator go all the way up to the top floor?...Sorry...couldn't resist.

Anthem,

I'll definitely be looking for a better sounding version. If you buy this version, please let me know how it sounds. Are you enjoying the album more now that you've played it through a few times?

Cheers,

A little change of pace this morning. Listening to Santana: Supernatural. Starting with Put Your Lights On featuring Everlast. This is another great stereo album. You won't hear this track on the elevator, Wayne.
