The Postman brought me some new goodies today and I'm not talking about Easter candy here. I received The Firewatcher's Daughter from Brandi Carlile and she lights it up on track 4 with Mainstream Kid! This sounds better on the CD but I think you'll get the point. A little rock 'n' roll to get your blood moving.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Gliere Symphony No. 1 / The Red Poppy Suite arrived early, first play this morning. It was recorded DDD, and as with all DDD recordings it sounded somewhat thin (dynamically) and the volume had to be turned up to the 2 o'clock position. First impressions were somewhat lackadaisical, but eager for a second play.R.Gliere (1875 - 1956) - Symphony No. 1, 4th Mvt.:
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Good morning, Anthem! Thanks for the feedback on the SQ. So do you feel the Telarc Vol. 1 had better SQ?

Cheers,

T Cobe

From Gliere to Mozart...from the Mozart Musical Masterpieces Collection / Clarinet Concerto

Story time...This, his last work for solo instrument, is Mozart at his most poised and elegant. In this lively first movement, after a bold statement of the main theme, we hear the clarinet in playful dialogue with the strings. The soloist restates the theme, embellishing it throughout the movement with imaginiative moves up and down the scale, with the orchestra filling in the background. A final flourish, bringing soloist and orchestra together, returns to the opening and takes the movement to a satisfying close.

T Cobe...yes I do feel the SQ on the Telrec disc was superior, much more dynamic. ----Mozart - Clarinet Concerto in A (First movement) 1:
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's
