I own a Triton One and have been extremely pleased with its performance. Without a doubt it is a terrific bargain for the price, even if the esthetics are not always praised. However, like many others including some here, I believe a few small changes would enhance the esthetics considerably. As has been previously suggested why not make optional bases and top plastic panels in optional colors? (Other speaker makers have done this).Contrasted against the black stocking, IMO, this would add immeasurably to the black monolithic look. Or why not provide different colors for the sock itself? Perhaps a lighter color like a taupe would look good. There's a lot that can be done to jazz up the Triton's appearance and for very minimal expense. Although sound is, of course, the primary consideration in purchasing a speaker, there is little doubt that esthetics are important as well. I read on forums of many who would not buy the Triton just based on looks alone. However superficial this may seem, it's a reality I believe should be considered.

Since (as you rightly point out) the speakers are so affordable, so great for the money, they will still be an incredible value even after one buys them and pays to have the tops and/or bottoms custom finished and creates an alternate grille sock color (either through dyeing the black one or making a new one). One of the reasons they are so affordable is because we only make them in Black. I think Henry Ford said that once too...

I understand your point though there is little doubt, at least in my mind, that owners would be less enthused with going to the trouble of dyeing the sock or painting the base than purchasing said optional parts, if not expensive, or purchasing a new speaker with several color options. Certainly, I would not expect this to be free; I would gladly pay for the added upgrades. Perhaps others wouldn't. I also believe that the cost in producing these would be offset by those who would give a new look at the enhanced esthetics and consider purchasing the speakers. Maybe I'm off base but I think it's worth consideration.

Yep, no question owners don't want to do that themselves, although we get asked enough I'm guessing there have been a few. I think I posted a pic here of some Triton Ones with Ferrari red base and top cap. I thought it was pretty cool looking.

No argument with any of your points, other than the math part. No matter what we offer, 95% will still be purchased in the standard Black. I have about 100 years of combined historical evidence to support that fact.

I have visually enhanced my Triton Ones and my Triton Sevens, by placing a favorite ball cap on top of each of the four speakers. The caps include: "King University Chorale" of which I am an honorary member, having sung with them as an invited tenor; "Alabama" to enjoy looking at my favorite college athletic teams; "1941 Model" to honor the year of my birth (and to remind me of how old I am, in case I forget); and, finally, a Shoal Creek Golf Club U. S. Open cap autographed for me by Payne Stewart.

These caps are delightful decorations, are easily installed and changed, and cannot harm the wonderful Golden Ear sound. I highly recommend this decoration scheme.
