I have the XPA-5 and love it for home theater! It's a great amp and you should really like it. It will be a noticeable improvement over the Marantz's internal amp as long as the Marantz has decent pre-out capabilities. With the holiday and close out pricing, this is a great time to invest! Let us know what you decide and how things sound.

Wayne,I will let you and the crew know if I decide to upgrade to the new amp. I hope this receiver is compatible with XPA-5!

What did you decide to do about adding an amp? I think Emotiva's sale ends today. Curious if you added an external amp and how it changed your sound.
