Hi all. I currently have a system consisting of a Simaudio Moon 340i, Cambridge Audio CXN v2, Pro-Ject x1 turntable, and Dynaudio Contour 20 speakers. I have a NAD M33 on order that will replace the Moon and Cambridge Audio. While I really like the Dynaudio’s, I am looking to get something with the ability to play lower and with a less finicky placement for soundstage. I am looking at the Triton 5’s and maybe a sub, or the Triton 2+. The system is strictly audio, no theater. I welcome comments and suggestions that might make a good fit. I listen to Rock, Jazz, Blues, pretty much most stuff but Rap and Country.

Hi

My input would be that since you are looking for something to play lower, the T2+'s would be an ideal choice.

With their two powered bass drivers, they can dig deeper than the T5's, and bass integration is built right in vs. adding a sub to the T5's setup and looking to integrate the sub.

Just my opinion.

Happy listening!

I agree with Rick. Two subs can make flattening room acoustics a bit easier. The integration of the subs in the powered towers have been optimized by the engineers at GET. Just use the speaker level inputs and adjust the gain to your preferred level. This takes up less floor space and keeps your setup simple. In a pure 2-channel setup, I would also just prefer to keep it pure. Just my .02. At the end of the day, it’s your money and your space. The only people that have to like it are those that live in your home. Cheers and good luck!

Thanks for recommendations. I am going to home demo a pair of 5’s and then the 2+’s in a week or two.
